Somtimes I feel like my mind keeps looping back to the same unhelpful thought. Most of the time its something very small but the more I focus on it the more it grows into something I dont know how to let go of. Until I make the next mistake and then Ill focus on that. But then I realized not one person is focused on any mistake I made. They have already forgot about it, Im still stuck on it. Instead of beating ourselves up over small things we do that we wished we had done different lets move forward. Own up to what we did, face it, and move on. Otherwise youll be stuck like a broken clock.
We have two decisions to make; first, we can dwell on things that have already happened. Knowing we can not go back and change anything so we end up trying to control the environment around us, in maybe not so healthy ways. Or, second we can decided to be positive and grateful that our decions must have kept us alive because we are still here. Having gratitude that we were given another day to right our wrongs, change our behavior, and to live life abundantly.
We were not made to live with controlling thoughts, thoughts that make us confused and restless. But we were made to think thoughts that give life, peace, and health.
Helpful Hint:
Try an activity that helps move your mind forward. For me I love to drive, so I decided to take a small road trip up to Sedona about a 2 hour drive. But along the way I played music with no words just melody. I was really able to think about so many possibilites for the future and I felt so much creativity coming up.
While listening to your favorite instumental music try making up your own song; maybe about whats happening around you, the scenery, or whats going on in your life at the moment.
